Feedstocks
The basis - our feedstocks
We base our production on industrial waste streams or biomasses, which are leftovers from industries like agriculture, forestry, refineries, steel, and the chemical industry.
Instead of using fossil resources for the production of goods, we base our process on stuff that is waste for others but provides us with valuable carbon and is not efficiently valorized currently.
We value these resources instead of wasting them.

Fermentation
Our hidden champions
Our little microorganisms have superpowers: they can efficiently convert mixed gases or industrial sugars into organic acids, without losing large amounts of CO2 in their metabolism, as other organisms do.
With our process, these bacteria do the hard work: they convert different inputs into valuable products, and they don’t need much to do it. Actually, they can even convert inputs that are problematic for other processes.
Small bacteria are our hidden champions in value creation.

Purification
Smart and efficient
Why are people not already using this strategy to produce chemicals - you might wonder? It is because the products are produced in a mixed broth with a lot of water and other substances. The challenge is to get rid of the water and everything else and purify the products at a low cost.
We have an innovative technology to get the miracle done: Where other processes require a lot of energy or complex equipment to separate water, we at Dahlia Biotech have found a way to heavily reduce the energy demand for the concentration process.
